Job role:

WDP HMP Woodhill, is an integrated, recovery-focussed drug and alcohol service.

We have a dedicated substance misuse treatment wing, where WDP are able to deliver high quality services including specialist prescribing services, rapid access to treatment, and other health and wellbeing interventions to better equip individuals to improve their physical and mental health. This position requires a nurse with appropriate and valid registration with the NMC and experience of working with individuals who use alcohol / substances.  

We are looking for someone who has an in-depth knowledge of the issues affecting people with substance misuse and experience of coordinating interventions with clients. The post holder will need to be comfortable with the Recovery principles in addictions, ITEP and NICE guidance on detoxification and stabilisation protocols. The individual should demonstrate skills to ensure that the care delivered is specific and evidence based, adhering to service user’s needs and will be required to hold a small caseload and have a proven track record of supervising and managing individuals to deliver such interventions.

Good communication skills written and verbal as well a resilient personality are essential. Confidence to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with an interest and commitment in group work and recovery. This is necessary, as participation in the units group programme and recovery is a requirement Team working is essential.
